Feta cheese
1 lightly beaten egg
3 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons sesami seeds
3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons olive oil
Mix the breadcrumbs and sesami seeds together in a bowl and put aside.
Cut the feta cheese into thick slices (about 1 inch thick). Dip the feta cheese slices in the flour to coat them well on all sides. Next dip the floured feta cheese slices into the egg and again ensuring you coat all sides well.
Finally dip the feta cheese slices in the sesami seed and breadcrumb mix, ensuring that the sesami and breadcrumb cover the slice well on all sides.
Heat the olive oil in the frying pan and shallow fry the saganaki slices over a medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
Remove from the pan and place on some kitchen paper to drain away excess oil before serving. |
